The Role of Genetics in Cardiovascular Disease
More than 1 in every 100 people has a genetic predisposition to a hereditary type of heart disease. The following webinar is presented by Amy Sturm, CGC LGC. During the webinar, Amy discusses the most common types of hereditary heart diseases, including coronary heart disease and heart attacks, aneurysms, abnormal heart rhythms called arrhythmias, a very common form of hereditary high cholesterol called familial hypercholesterolemia, as well as others. She covers clues and signs, sometimes called “red flags”, in your personal medical and family histories that may indicate there is a hereditary risk for heart disease.
